Mild stimulation IVF is a kind of unique in vitro fertilization treatment method developed in Honji natural cycle Fertility Center. Essentially the same way to natural cycle IVF, it is also a relative natural infertility treatment method, which provides a more mild choice except for traditional IVF. Mild stimulation IVF is to orally take Clomid (Letrozole) in the second day of MC, and cooperate with small amount of FSH injections (Gonal-F; Puegon) in the treatment to promote the maturation and growth of the follicular. After the follicular has fully grown up, adopt gonadotropin-releasing hormone (Gonal, nasal spray usually) 36 hours before egg retrieval to cause the secretion of FSH and LH so as to induce the fully maturation of ova. While in traditional IVF, numerous progesterone need to be injected after the implantation, which has more burden on the body compared to Mild stimulation IVF.

The difference of mild stimulation IVF and natural cycle IVF is that the former one adopts a small amount of oral medication to stimulate the ovary to produce “qualified” ova in one natural cycle as much as possible. As pointed out by scientists, even though a lot of stimulation to produce more ova, the final delivered health embryos are those few qualified ova (usually being 3-5). Although large amounts of ova can be produced by the stimulation with large amount of IVF drugs, the embryos formed by poor-quality ova are either discarded in screening before the implantation or are spontaneously aborted in the future.

The reason makes Mild stimulation IVF a better choice than natural cycle IVF is that the Mild stimulation IVF can produce more qualified ova in each cycle, improve pregnancy probability and freeze and preserve extra embryos for your preparation for the next family member. In addition, Mild stimulation IVF can reduce dangerous factors and the discomfort that may be caused by OHSS, can eliminate the pain brought by daily injections, reduce the medication fees, avoid 2-3 months of waiting time in cycles, and also can reduce ovary and endometrium cancerization (still need further research to prove the relationship between hormone therapy and various cancers) probability caused by long-term use of large amount of IVF drugs.
