We choose to trust Dr. Chang and to trust that pregnancy would come. My husband and I, from Taipei Neihu, love children very much. Especially my husband, he has the affinity with many children, and they also likely have plays with him. However, married for about eight years, I was unable to conceive a baby. We have tried various kinds of folk prescriptions, such as asking God, changing mates, consulting oracles, donating, and even visiting all temples within the province. As everyone suggested, we even headed for Kaohsiung, but all failed, accompanied with our disappointments, as well as four times of artificial inseminations. My originally wanted to receive a test tube treatment, but had no courage to take numbers of menotropins as most infertile patients! I failed to deliver any significant change until I saw news report on Dr. Hung-Chi Chang last year in TV and Internet, which said “… with few injections”, “and half costs of others’”, …… Reports like these had kindled the light of hope for me, and Dr. Chang, as a devout Buddhist, strengthened my decision.
Then my husband and I visited Dr. Chang in Taichung China Medical University Hospital one day on a weekend, and found Dr. Chang was a man of no little humour, but also with confidence. He is as amiable and young as a brother next door, without any lofty stance. After understood our sufferings, he told us firmly, “Be sure to help you pregnant”, and my husband and I decided to receive his treatment course unhesitatingly, thus giving our 7-year wait a happy ending.
I felt more relax for one menotropins twice a day during the treatment course, but more nervous at the implantation day. Thank you my husband for always being there for me, and I was rather amazed when I saw my embryo in dividing. Dr. Chang then said, “Your embryo got a full mark, and you will have succeeded.” The doctor’s words made me so happy. As four ova implanted, and after 2 hours relax, we stayed the night in a hotel nearby to stabilize the condition. In the next day, we took a taxi to the high-speed rail station and back to Taipei. On the way, I asked the driver to drive a little slower and avoid holes because I was really afraid that if it would fall out.
I stayed at home all the time and ate what my parents brought to me, accompanied with reading Buddhist Chanting and Heart Sutra within the 15 days until the date of pregnancy test. I didn’t sleep for the whole night, and woke up at 6 in the morning for testing. Lines were not obvious in the first kit, so we switched to the other pregnancy test kit for testing, and saw the two lines very clearly. We finally cried with joy. Proved pregnant after second examination, and saw my baby within my normal uterus, I felt grateful. And now, in my ninth-week pregnancy sickness, though uncomfortable, I also felt very happy!! I really appreciate Dr. Chang’s compassion and patience, and you are the savior worked in the Reproductive Medicine.
